Laser Lab resin printer safety rules 2023

These are safety rules for the Form 2 resin printer in the Laser Lab. Note that further instructions are under the Module “Facilities and instructions”.

Before you are allowed to use the resin printer you have to do the following things:

1. Read the rules below
2. Verify at the bottom of this page that you will follow these rules
3. Watch the videos on the page “Resin printer introduction”, in the Module “Facilities and instructions”
4. Verify at the bottom of that page that you have watched and understood the content of the videos

The reason for these formalities is that you might damage the printer or hurt yourself if you don’t know about the safety around the printer.

Safety rules for the resin printer

• Do not change resin (cartridges or trays) yourself
• Do not change 2-propanol in the washing machine yourself
• Wear eye protection when you do anything with the resin liquid (such as stirring the resin in the tray)
• Wear eye protection when you do anything with the 2-propanal cleaning liquid (such as cleaning the model manually with the 2-propanol bottle, or moving the printed model into or out of the washing machine).
• Wear gloves when doing anything that makes you come in contact with 2-propanol cleaning liquid (such as cleaning the model manually with the 2-propanol bottle, or moving the printed model into or out of the washing machine)
• Do not touch the glass surfaces on the underside of the resin tray or under the resin tray

Note that eye protection and gloves are in the plastic box underneath the printer.
