Welcome to the Organizational Behaviour Course!

This course deals with human behavior in organizations and provides knowledge on how teams as well as individuals act and communicate in their organizational context. As such the course provides an opportunity to investigate and experience topics whose basis can be found in the applied behavioral and social sciences and that have relevancy to management. The course will explore the interactions between individuals and the systems in which they live and work. Individual and team levels of analysis are included in covering such topics as communication, motivation, team dynamics & performance, individual effectiveness & development, inter-group behavior, work design, creativity, leadership, and culture.

The focus of this course will be experiential, engaging the student actively in the learning process, including that each student will be assigned to a team. In addition to conceptual inputs, the course will utilize structured & unstructured exercises, simulations, case analysis and student's presentations. The course comprises 7 full-day workshops (8:30-17:00): March 24, April 1, 28 and 29, May 12 and 13, May 27. Most of the learning will take place in class in the teams and therefore these 7 days of workshops are all compulsory. The course will be examined by means of individual as well as team assignments.

The course is held by the Department of Technology Management and Economics, Division of Entrepreneurship & Strategy. Flemming Norrgren and Susanne Ollila are course leaders, with Sarah van Santen as course assistant.

If you have not yet registered for the course there are still seats available. Please contact studentcentrum and register as soon as possible. Final registrations for the course must be done by 20 March. If you registered, but now realise that you cannot attend the course, please unregister with studentcentrum so that someone else can receive your place. On the first day of class, 24 March, the teachers will allocate you to a team that you will be a part of for the duration of the course.
