Course purpose
The aim of the course is to teach the basis in analysis and design of high frequency electrical circuits essential for wireless communication

Project work
Design, simulation and manufacturing of a microwave amplifier using Keysight ADS. The project is carried out in groups of 2 students.

CONTENT
Learning objectives
- analyze electrical two-port networks
- design and analyze high frequency circuits, e.g. amplifiers and oscillators
- construct high frequency circuits by using CAD software
- explain nonlinearities in high frequency circuits
- explain noise in electronic circuits

Examination
Written exam that is graded (F, 3, 4, 5). Project report that is graded with fail (F) or pass (P). Pass exam and pass project report is required for a final grade to be issued
Permitted aids on the exam are a textbook, as well as a type-approved calculator. Course-notes are allowed.
Prerequisites and eligibility requirements
Basic knowledge in transmission line theory including the relationships between impedance and reflection coefficients corresponding to the course RRY010 Telecommunications.
