Learning objectives and syllabus
Learning objectives:
- Categorize different types of offshore operations
- Relate to the various regulations that the offshore industry is subject.
- Identify different types of engine systems that are available on vessels operating in the offshore industry
- Explain how a DP (dynamic positioning system) works in an electrical and mechanical engineering perspective
- Give examples of different technical solutions in a engine systems that are common in the offshore industry
- To compile and use relevant checklists in electrical and mechanical engineering for offshore vessels
- Be able to apply the function of electrical systems in an offshore vessels
- Identify hazards in the work environment and ergonomics in an offshore vessel
- Be able to understand and apply basic FMEA methodology used in the offshore industry
- Explain general terms, procedures and operations in the offshore industry
- Identify the fundamentals of Arctic offshore operations
- Summarize how to work aboard an offshore vessels and identify factors that are essential for safe operations and good working
