  • The societal role of the railway
This includes perspectives on market, system, economics and environment
  • Overview of railway systems

  • Operational loads and related deterioration phenomena
Provides an overview of operational loads on railways, and the relations to design and maintenance status. Introduces railway dynamics and discusses mechanisms, consequences and possibilities for prediction of loading and subsequent deterioration/safety risks of different parts of the railway system with focus to loads generated in the wheel–rail interface.
  • Asset management from a railway perspective
Provides an overview of the ISO 55000 standard for asset management with focus on how to manage railway assets subjected to mechanical deterioration. This involves discussions on different modes of deterioration and risk analyses.
