Course purpose

The aim with the course is to give the student basic knowledge of ports and distribution nodes management, organization and operation. The student will after concluded course have increased the knowledge of ports/distribution nodes infrastructure and logistics and the need of adequate security. Further the student will increase the awareness of how ports and distribution nodes can contribute to the sustainable development goals.

Learning objectives:

- Explain port management, organization and operations.
- Explain ports' and distribution nodes' infrastructure and logistics (berths, storage, handling, documentation etc)
- Explain port security
- Explain ports' and distribution nodes' contribution to UN's sustainable development goals (no.9)
