Course purpose
The purpose of the course is to provide in depth knowledge in the main transactions and contracts that governs shipping and ship owning activities; how contracts can be used to direct and strategically control the allocation of costs, functions and risks and to increase efficiency. The course also aims to provide guidance for how sustainability goals can be implemented in shipping contracts and activities.

Learning objectives and syllabus
Learning objectives:
· Understand the meaning, function and effect of the contracts and transactions covered in the course
· Evaluate the distribution of cost, function, risk and liability in maritime agreements
· Develop and implement business strategies for contract negotiations and concluding of contracts
· Apply business acumen and fair practise in commercial and legal transactions.
· Implement sustainability goals in shipping contracts and maritime activities.
